Essential Firefox extensions
This obviously varies depending on what your daily browser duties entail but I have found these to be very useful and essential to my Firefox surfing and web development activities.

Firefox Web Developer Extension
The Firefox Web Developer extension by Chris Pederick adds a menu and a toolbar with various web developer tools. It is designed for Firefox, Flock and Seamonkey, and will run on any platform that these browsers support including Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
Screengrab!
The Firefox Screengrab extension by Andy M saves entire web pages as images. It will save what you can see in the window, the entire page, just a selection, a particular frame… basically it saves web pages as images.
ColorZilla
The Firefox ColorZilla extension by Alex Sirota can get a color reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program. You can Zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between any two points on the page. The built-in palette browser allows choosing colors from pre-defined color sets and saving the most used colors in custom palettes. DOM spying features allow getting various information about DOM elements quickly and easily.
SeoQuake
The Firefox SeoQuake extension by the SeoQuake Team is aimed primarily at helping web masters who deal with search engine optimization and internet promotion of web sites. Seoquake allows to obtain and investigate many important SEO parameters of the internet project under study on the fly, save them for future work, compare them with the results, obtained for other, competitive, projects.
I have a couple others installed but you will probably find the above very useful. Of course you will need Firefox installed in order to add these on
